Internal desert locations, including Liwa and Al Ain, are expected to bear the brunt of the heatwave with mercury levels climbing to 48°C and 49°C. Meanwhile, urban coastal centers including Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah will see maximum temperatures hovering between 42°C and 45°C, amplified by high ambient moisture.
In addition to morning fog, the NCM noted a probability of afternoon convective cloud development over eastern and southern mountain regions. These formations could trigger localized light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by fresh winds reaching up to 40 km/h that may blow dust and sand over exposed areas.
Traffic authorities have urged motorists to exercise extreme caution when navigating fog-prone corridors, advising drivers to utilize low-beam headlights, maintain safe following distances, and monitor variable speed limit signs activated during low-visibility conditions. Maritime conditions in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea are expected to remain generally slight to moderate.
