The National Center of Meteorology has issued a weather advisory. This advisory warns that dense fog will cover Abu Dhabi, Dubai and the coastal areas. Dense fog will make visibility very low. The fog is expected to reduce visibility significantly. The relative humidity will rise to ninety percent overnight. This increase, in humidity will cause the fog to become even thicker. According to the official weather bulletin, high atmospheric moisture levels migrating from the Arabian Gulf will lead to blanket fog and thick mist during late night and early morning hours. The severe drop in horizontal visibility is expected to impact major intercity transit corridors, including the Sheikh Zayed Road and the Abu Dhabi–Dubai highway.
Daytime conditions will remain fair to partly cloudy overall, with maximum inland temperatures ranging between 41°C and 45°C. Convective cloud development is expected over eastern and mountainous regions by late afternoon, bringing localized wind variations and the possibility of light rain showers.
In response to the alert, traffic management authorities and police departments across Abu Dhabi and Dubai urged motorists to exercise maximum caution on the roads. Drivers are advised to strictly adhere to dynamic speed limit reductions enforced on major corridors during fog alerts, maintain safe stopping distances, and rely on low-beam headlights rather than hazard lights.
