Built with an investment exceeding $10 billion, the Pinglu Canal features advanced dual-track shipping locks capable of handling 5,000-ton cargo vessels. Chinese officials emphasized that the waterway serves as a critical leg of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, dramatically enhancing trade efficiency with key ASEAN partners like Vietnam, Malaysia, and Singapore amid growing regional economic integration.
