The United Arab Emirates has a hospital that floats on water and it stopped at Al Arish Port in Egypt. This hospital helped 21 Palestinians who were hurt. The hospital gave them fake legs and arms that are just for them. This is a deal, for the United Arab Emirates and their “Step of Hope” program to help people who are sick or hurt. The United Arab Emirates “Step of Hope” program is really helping a lot of people.

The ship is part of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3. It is a boat that helps people. This boat takes care of people from Gaza who were hurt badly during the fighting. Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 does a lot to help these people from Gaza. The boat has a hospital on it where people from Gaza can get the help they need. They can get therapy to make their bodies stronger. They can also get custom made legs and arms.. They can have surgery to fix their injuries. Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 is very important for people, from Gaza who lost arms or legs during the conflict. The initiative integrates advanced 3D scanning technology used by medical teams inside Gaza with specialized manufacturing facilities aboard the offshore hospital ship.

The medical process begins inside the Gaza Strip, where field personnel conduct initial patient evaluations and utilize high-precision 3D digital scanners to map the contours of residual limbs. This data is transmitted directly to the floating hospital in Al Arish, where specialist prosthetists design, fabricate, and assemble tailored upper- and lower-limb devices. Once the customized prosthetics are fitted, multidisciplinary teams comprising surgeons, physical therapists, occupational specialists, and psychological counsellors supervise intensive rehabilitation courses to help patients regain physical mobility and independence.

Major Emirati relief organizations, including the International Charity Organisation and the Big Heart Foundation, support the “Step of Hope” framework. Beyond immediate artificial limb fittings, the humanitarian campaign aims to build long-term rehabilitation capacity inside the Palestinian enclave by establishing localized manufacturing workshops, training local technicians, and maintaining supply lines for replacement components.

Since launching operations in February 2024, the 100-bed floating hospital has provided complex orthopedic surgeries, burn treatments, and emergency care for thousands of Gazans transferred through the Rafah border crossing. World Health Organization estimates indicate that thousands of Palestinians require specialized prosthetic intervention due to war-related injuries. Emirati health officials affirmed that the hospital ship remains fully staffed and equipped to expand prosthetic care, physical therapy, and follow-up clinical support for incoming casualties in the months ahead.
