Dubai population growth: before 4.25M, now 4.58M with 332,000 more residents (+7.5% annual growth).

Dubai’s resident population reached 4.58 million, according to data released by Digital Dubai via the Dubai Data and Statistics Establishment. The figure represents an annual increase of 332,000 residents, marking a 7.5 percent growth rate one of the fastest expansions recorded in the emirate’s modern history.

The population surge reflects sustained economic momentum across primary sectors, with real gross domestic product growing by 5.4 percent alongside 19.6 million international tourist arrivals and 96 million passengers processed through Dubai airports, as highlighted by WAM. The data further revealed that the daytime population swells to 6.392 million when factoring in an additional 1.812 million daily commuters, regional workers, tourists, and students entering the emirate.

Coinciding with the demographic milestone, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, approved the launch of the “Dubai Population Now” initiative. As detailed by Gulf News, this next-generation real-time census system leverages administrative records, artificial intelligence, and big data across government entities like the GDRFA, DEWA, RTA, and the Dubai Health Authority to continuously track demographic shifts.

Demographic breakdowns provided by Time Out Dubai show that young adults aged 15 to 35 represent the largest segment at 2.069 million people, followed by 1.767 million residents aged 36 to 59. The resident breakdown stands at 69 percent male and 31 percent female, reflecting ongoing employment migration. The real-time population registry aims to provide urban planners with dynamic data to optimize future housing, education, healthcare, and transport infrastructure.
