The National Centre of Meteorology forecasts convective clouds, possible rainfall in eastern and inland areas, and fresh winds causing blowing dust across parts of the UAE.

Dubai: Although you can expect today to be slightly warmer than yesterday, rain and cloudy skies are set to cool down parts of the UAE.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) expects fair weather and partly cloudy skies, with a chance of convective cloud formation over the eastern and southern parts of the country, particularly over Al Ain and in mountainous regions further east of the UAE.

These clouds may extend towards the centre of the country and in internal areas, causing rainfall in some inland regions, like Nahil and Hamim, and along cities in the eastern coast, such as Fujairah.

Mercury on the rise

Despite slightly wetter conditions, temperatures are steadily climbing today. The NCM forecasts coastal areas and islands to peak between 37°C and 42°C, while internal areas will reach 43°C to 48°C.

Among major cities, Abu Dhabi is set to peak at 43°C, Dubai at 42°C, Sharjah at 41°C, and Ajman at 40°C. Al Ain is set to experience the highest temperature today, of 47°C.

Strong winds, but calm seas

Light to moderate winds may become fresh and strong at times, causing blowing dust, according to the NCM. Wind speeds will average 10 to 20km/h today, but reach 40km/h in coastal areas and 45km/h in internal and mountain regions.

Despite stronger winds, both the Arabian Sea and the Sea of Oman will see slight conditions today, so if you’re heading to the beach, you can expect gentle waves rising to a maximum of two feet on-shore, and three feet off-shore along both eastern and western coastlines of the UAE.

Here is the complete breakdown of minimum and maximum temperatures across the Emirates today:

Maximum Temp (°C) Minimum Temp (°C)

Dubai 42°C 30°C

Abu Dhabi 43°C 32°C

Al Ain 47°C 33°C

Sharjah 41°C 30°C

Ajman 40°C 32°C

Fujairah 37°C 31°C

Ras Al Khaimah 44°C 28°C

Umm Al Quwain 39°C 30°C

Liwa 46°C 33°C
