Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has just launched an Academic and Career Guidance Framework. This Academic and Career Guidance Framework will help students in Dubai’s schools become ready for careers and find the right path to higher education. The new framework establishes standardized guidelines for schools to integrate career counselling, skill mapping, and experiential learning into their curricula starting from early secondary grades. Under the initiative, all private schools in Dubai will be required to provide dedicated career guidance counsellors, structured internship opportunities, and regular university preparation workshops tailored to evolving global job market demands.
According to KHDA leadership, the framework aims to bridge the gap between K-12 education, higher education institutions, and future industry requirements, particularly in emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence, green technology, advanced manufacturing, and digital economy roles. The initiative also emphasizes parental engagement, encouraging families to participate in career planning sessions alongside students.
School leaders and education experts across the emirate have welcomed the framework, highlighting that structured career guidance will empower students to make informed academic choices aligned with national workforce strategies and competitive international university admissions standards.
