AED1.1 billion issuance oversubscribed 4.4 times as investor demand reflects confidence in UAE economy

Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of Finance (MoF), as issuer and in collaboration with the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) as issuing and payment agent, announced the successful completion of the July 2026 auctions of UAE dirham-denominated Treasury Islamic Sukuk (T-Sukuk) and Treasury Bonds (T-Bonds), with a total issuance size of AED1.1 billion.

The transaction forms part of the Treasury Bonds and Treasury Sukuk Issuance Programme 2026.

The auctions attracted strong demand from primary dealers for the T-Sukuk tranche maturing in October 2027 and the T-Bond tranche maturing in January 2031.

Total bids reached AED4.83 billion, representing an oversubscription rate of 4.4 times.

The Ministry said the strong investor participation reflects confidence in the UAE’s financial sector and the resilience of the national economy.

The auction results demonstrated competitive market-driven pricing, with a yield to maturity (YTM) of 4.49% for the T-Sukuk maturing in October 2027 and 4.48% for the T-Bond maturing in January 2031.

The yields represented spreads of 24 basis points and 4 basis points, respectively, above comparable US Treasury securities at the time of issuance.

The T-Sukuk and T-Bonds are listed on Nasdaq Dubai, providing investors with access to secondary market trading.

The Ministry said the programmes play an important role in developing the UAE’s dirham-denominated yield curve and offer secure investment instruments for a broad range of investors.

They also support the growth of the local debt capital market, contribute to the wider investment landscape and help advance the UAE’s long-term economic sustainability and growth objectives.
