Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the UAE Federal National Council (FNC), has formally welcomed a landmark resolution adopted by the European Parliament calling for a unified European strategy to counter the Muslim Brotherhood and its associated extremist networks.
Ghobash characterized the resolution as an essential step toward strengthening international and parliamentary cooperation to combat extremism, curtail terrorist financing, and safeguard regional and global stability. He emphasized that addressing ideological extremism requires sustained, coordinated global action focused on sharing intelligence, cutting off illicit funding streams, and preventing extremist groups from exploiting public institutions or civil society organizations.
The FNC Speaker noted that the significance of the European Parliament’s vote lies in translating its directives into practical measures to expose covert influence networks and dismantle their support structures in accordance with the rule of law.
Reaffirming the United Arab Emirates’ steadfast policy against radical ideology, Ghobash reiterated Abu Dhabi’s commitment to collaborating with international legislative bodies to promote tolerance, peaceful coexistence, and counter-extremism frameworks.
