Contractors are finalizing proposals for a major industrial wastewater treatment facility at Oxagon, NEOM’s advanced manufacturing and industrial cluster, following a deadline extension issued by ENOWA, NEOM’s energy and water subsidiary.
The revised tender submission deadline has been moved to October 25, providing regional and international engineering firms additional time to finalize bid packages. The contract encompasses the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of an industrial wastewater treatment plant with an initial operating capacity of 35,000 cubic meters per day (m³/d), designed to be delivered in modular trains of 5,000 m³/d each.
The facility forms a critical component of ENOWA’s circular water architecture, which mandates 100% wastewater collection, treatment, and resource recovery across NEOM. Recycled water and harvested by-products—including biogas, nutrients, and industrial-grade water—will be repurposed for industrial operations, local landscaping, and construction needs across the gigaproject.
The project aligns with NEOM’s expanding utilities portfolio, with billions of dollars in water recycling, seawater desalination, and distribution infrastructure currently in active execution to support Oxagon, The Line, and Trojena development zones.
