Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first against Afghanistan in their one-off Test match at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi. BAN vs AFG Test
The fixture marks Bangladesh’s maiden red-ball appearance in the United Arab Emirates and serves as a crucial baseline test for both sides in the multi-format bilateral series hosted by the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB). The two teams enter the match deadlocked at 1-1 in their overall Test head-to-head record.
Afghanistan enters the match under the leadership of newly appointed Test captain Rahmat Shah. With star leg-spinner Rashid Khan rested, Afghanistan’s spin attack is spearheaded by Qais Ahmad, alongside domestic top performers Sediqullah Atal and Shahidullah Kamal.
Bangladesh, captained by Najmul Hossain Shanto, aims to replicate their dominant performance from their previous Test encounter in June 2023. The visitors rely on an experienced middle order featuring Mushfiqur Rahim, Litton Das, and all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz, with top-order support from Mominul Haque and Tawhid Hridoy.
