The NCM forecasts partly cloudy skies, rising humidity, possible fog or mist by Wednesday morning, and rough sea conditions along the eastern coast.

Dubai: The weather today is a little cooler, but a lot more humid than yesterday. Temperatures are sliding into the high-30s, as humidity surges across the country.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecasts a partially cloudy day ahead. Clouds will appear eastward, and become convective by the afternoon, which means you’re likely to see puffy, vertically developed clouds forming when warm, moist air rises through cooler air.

Slight dip in temperature in major cities

Temperatures in the coastal areas and islands are expected to be between 38°C to 42°C, while internal regions are expected to see maximum temperatures between 43°C and 48°C.

Among major cities, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah and Umm Al Quwain are forecast to reach 39°C, while Ajman will peak at 38°C. Towards the internal regions of the country, Al Ain and Liwa will experience the hottest weather, at 46°C and 47°C respectively.

Humidity rising

Humidity is spiking today, with levels rising to 90% in both coastal areas and internal regions. The NCM forecasts humidity to increase overnight, into Wednesday morning, with the probability of fog or mist formation. Ensure you drive carefully in such conditions, as there may be a reduction in horizontal visibility in the early morning hours tomorrow.

Rough eastern coast

Southwesterly to northwesterly winds are averaging speeds of 10–25 km/h, and may reach up to 35 km/h at times.

Both the Arabian Gulf and Sea of Oman are expected to remain slight during the day, so you can enjoy gentle waves rising to two feet on-shore and just three feet off-shore, when you visit the seaside. However, by the evening, the Sea of Oman will shift to moderate sea conditions, and become rough at times, according to the NCM, with waves increasing in height to four feet off-shore.

Here is the complete breakdown of minimum and maximum temperatures across the Emirates today:

Maximum Temp (°C) Minimum Temp (°C)

Dubai 39°C 31°C

Abu Dhabi 39°C 31°C

Al Ain 46°C 30°C

Sharjah 39°C 31°C

Ajman 38°C 30°C

Fujairah 38°C 33°C

Ras Al Khaimah 40°C 30°C

Umm Al Quwain 39°C 29°C

Liwa 47°C 29°C
