The NCM advises motorists to drive carefully, as dust may reduce visibility.

Dubai: Summer weather is here to stay, but watch out for blowing dust today.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecasts fair weather conditions in the day ahead, with partial cloud cover at times in the northern and eastern parts of the country.

Here’s where to find the coolest region in the country

Temperatures across the country are peaking in the low- to mid-40s. Dubai is expected to see a high of 39°C, Sharjah will hit 40°C, and Abu Dhabi, 41°C. While coastal and island regions of the UAE will see a maximum temperature range of 36°C to 41°C, it will be much warmer in internal regions, with temperatures between 41°C and 46°C.

For cooler climes, head to mountainous areas of the country, where the peak temperature will be between 32°C to 38°C.

Blowing dust alert

The NCM forecasts light to moderate southwesterly to northwesterly winds, freshening at times westward, and reaching speeds of up to 40km/h in coastal and internal areas.

The stronger winds could stir up dust and reduce visibility, especially in open areas and desert regions. The NCM advises motorists to remain cautious while driving in such conditions, and urges residents and tourists to limit exposure to dust.

Rough Arabian Gulf conditions

As winds pick up speed, sea conditions are expected to become rougher as the day progresses.

Arabian Gulf: According to the NCM, the Arabian Gulf will start out slight to moderate, with waves of one to two feet, and become rough at times, especially along the western coast, impacting cities like Abu Dhabi and Dubai. By evening, wave heights are expected to reach four feet on-shore, and up to six feet off-shore.

Sea of Oman: However, along the eastern coast of the country, the Sea of Oman is expected to see slight conditions throughout the day, with calm waters and gentle waves of two to three feet.

Here is the complete breakdown of minimum and maximum temperatures across the Emirates today:

Maximum Temp (°C) Minimum Temp (°C)

Dubai 39°C 30°C

Abu Dhabi 41°C 29°C

Al Ain 45°C 29°C

Sharjah 40°C 30°C

Ajman 38°C 29°C

Fujairah 36°C 31°C

Ras Al Khaimah 42°C 29°C

Umm Al Quwain 38°C 30°C

Liwa 45°C 32°C
