Temperatures climb into the mid-40s inland, humidity rises overnight and calm seas make for an ideal beach weekend.

Dubai: Friday is shaping up to be another classic summer day across the UAE, with plenty of sunshine, high temperatures, and calm sea conditions, making it ideal for beachgoers.

Heat on the rise

According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), today’s weather will be fair, in general, with some low clouds developing over the eastern coast. The mercury is expected to climb higher today, especially in internal areas, where you can expect a temperature range of 41°C to 47°C.

Cities around the country will see temperatures in the low-40s today. Dubai and Sharjah are forecast to experience highs of 41°C, while Abu Dhabi will peak at 42°C. Deeper in the UAE, regions like Al Ain and Liwa will see the highest temperatures today, of 44°C and 45°C respectively.

Calm seas for beach plans

If you’re planning to head to the beach after sunset, it’s a good idea, as conditions look favourable. The NCM forecasts light to moderate southwesterly to northwesterly winds averaging 10 to 25km/h, and reaching up to 35km/h – a speed that falls under the ‘fresh breeze’ category, according to the Beaufort Wind Scale, an empirical system often used by met offices around the world to observe and measure how wind speed affects the environment.

With breezy winds, the seas along both coasts of the country are expected to be slight, or calm, according to the NCM. The Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman will see gentle waves of one to two feet onshore, and up to three feet off-shore, offering a perfect backdrop for beach activities.

Weekend outlook

This summer pattern is expected to continue into the weekend, with the NCM forecasting Saturday and Sunday to bring more fair weather, high temperatures, and generally calm sea conditions. Internal areas of the UAE will remain the hottest, with temperatures continuing to climb into the mid-40s, while coastal cities like Abu Dhabi and Dubai can expect highs in the low-40s. On Sunday, however, wind speeds are expected to gain speed, so expect blowing dust, especially in open, exposed areas.

Here is the complete breakdown of minimum and maximum temperatures across the Emirates today:

Maximum Temp (°C) Minimum Temp (°C)

Dubai 41°C 28°C

Abu Dhabi 42°C 29°C

Al Ain 44°C 29°C

Sharjah 41°C 30°C

Ajman 41°C 29°C

Fujairah 36°C 31°C

Ras Al Khaimah 43°C 29°C
